Dr. Willem van Verseveld
Willem is a hydrologist and has extensive experience in hydrological modelling and the use of satellite information in flood and drought modelling and forecasting. After obtaining his PhD degree at Oregon State University, USA, in the field of Hillslope and Catchment Hydrology, in 2007, he has been employed at the Dutch research institute Deltares since 2008. At Deltares he has been involved in projects and research related to hydrological modelling, remote sensing, flood and drought forecasting, and hydrological climate change impact assessments.
Within SERVIR-Mekong, Willem is involved as hydrologist and Deltares project leader in the development of remote sensing algorithms and applications for the detection of surface water distribution patterns.
