Remote Sensing and Land Cover Training

SERVIR-Mekong will support and participate in this specialized course intended to provide an overview of the various techniques for preparing data from the Landsat satellites, as well as the approaches to developing a range of land cover, water mapping, and other information products. At the end of the course, participants will be able to confidently advise on best practices for applying Landsat information products and derived products to a range of decision and planning contexts. This course is closed for applications due to limited seats available to SERVIR-Mekong.

SERVIR-Mekong / ADPC: SERVIR-Mekong is a joint program of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and ADPC. The program is designed to respond to the needs of the Lower Mekong countries. It builds the capacity of governments and other key stakeholders in the Lower Mekong countries to employ publicly-available satellite imagery and geospatial technologies, such as mapping and analysis software, for environmental management, disaster risk management and building resilience to climate change.
U.S. Department of the Interior’s International Technical Assistance Program ‘s (DOI ITAP) Land Cover for Climate (LC4Climate) project aims to enhance the capacity of developing country partners to improve techniques to generate and/or update existing land cover information using satellite imagery. The USAID Global Climate Change program is funding the LC4Climate project.
SilvaCarbon is a US technical cooperation program to enhance the capacity of partner governments to measure, monitor, and manage forest and terrestrial carbon. Working in partnership with developing countries and other partners, it will enhance worldwide capacity by disseminating good practices and technologies for monitoring and managing forest and terrestrial carbon.
