Dr. Miguel Laverde-Barajas

Miguel Laverde-Barajas is a Colombian researcher specializing in hydroinformatics technologies with a focus on earth observations. During his professional career, Miguel has contributed to projects in water and disaster management in multiple countries, including the National Water Policy in Colombia, the Integral Water Plan of the State of Tabasco and Panuco in Mexico and the SERVIR SEA Program in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia.

Miguel holds a BSc in Environmental Management from the District University of Bogota, Colombia a MSc with honors in Coastal and River Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and a PhD.in water Resources and Engineering from the Technical University of Delft, Netherlands. His interests include traveling, hiking, and playing football.
